Bio
Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make sure you do not feel like you are taking that step alone. I believe therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, honesty, and authentic connection. My approach is calm, warm, direct, and down-to-earth. I want clients to feel comfortable showing up as themselves, whether that means talking through pain, frustration, fear, uncertainty, humor, or anything in between.
Much of my clinical background has focused on anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, men’s issues, substance use and co-occurring concerns, self-harm, suicidal ideation, severe emotional distress, safety planning, and level-of-care decision-making. My background in crisis response has helped me become comfortable sitting with clients during difficult and overwhelming moments while also helping them slow things down, identify what they need, and take realistic next steps.
Additionally, my experience as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist also informs my practice. It grounds my work in a recovery-oriented, strengths-based mindset where clients are viewed as the experts in their own lives. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to walk alongside you as we identify your strengths, build coping skills, and work toward the life you want to create.
On a personal note, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, spending time near the lakefront, staying active, cooking, and spending time with family and my pets. I believe self-care looks different for everyone, and part of therapy can be figuring out what actually helps you feel more grounded, connected, and like yourself again. I would be honored to accompany you in the next part of your journey.
